1. Soundblaster Audigy 2 - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I have a SB audigy 2ZS and it works just fine. Make sure you are running the latest official drivers from creative and not the ones from Microsoft, as those tend to cause heavy conflicts. ------------------------------------- "It is not the stron...

2. Screen shaking on entering/leaving warp - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
The reasoning for the shake is because, if you were able to ready any of the backstories of EVE yet, you are viewing your ship from a secondary camera drone. This camera drone, like the hull of your ship, undergoes a tremendous adjustment in speed...

3. eve-i down, need the stuff extractor - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I've got a corpmate who's color blind and I'd like to modify some crucial GUI information from red and green to blue and yellow (such as required skill info). I used to have the stuff extractor but since eve-i went down I can't find it anywhere. A...

Exactally :) If fellow programmers and software coders don't bicker and argue like it's a monumentaly epic subject (even on basic variables) then then world will have come to an end. Just good coder fun. ------------

5. Irritatin! lost a ferox and lag lag lag! - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Sorry you took it as rude :) But not sorry you feel that way. I stepped in and put my foot down because I am aware of the coding differences between what his statement was founded upon compared to how MMORPG production works in differentials from...

Edited by: Guardian Alpha on 26/07/2005 22:46:30 Originally by: Velamax Crus This is really getting into a arguement with others jumping in. I do agree intel assembler is a bit silly. Personally I do very little intel but I have done i...

That was a great reply. Thanks. I'm still sticking the the "you have no clue what difference your program versus MMORPG programming involves", and comparing your program to a Qbasic program and the MMORPG as a TI-83 calculator chip. Fool the bo...

Edited by: Guardian Alpha on 26/07/2005 22:25:09 Called your bluff, give it up. I don't care how much money you make. Code complexity is code complexity. What you are trying to compare is a Qbasic program of Hello World to the Chip Programming...

Look, you can try and BS all you want about your job and how "important" it is :) But you aren't going to convience fellow coders (who have done similar injection/monitoring projects for fortune 500 company datatracking) that such a program requir...

12. Irritatin! lost a ferox and lag lag lag! - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Still a matter of code depth. There is at least 600 megs of client-side coding data, and unknown amounts of python script written for serverside+clientside usability. Surley an MMORPG server/client setup requires more coding and processing than a...

screex, this is not meant as an insult to your coding experience (as I know exactally where you are coming from on it). But a MMORPG I feel would require much more complex coding streams for server/client communications, multiple levels of graphic...

Quote: Face it, they don't know how to fix it: this great "10,000 players on one shard" is a fallacy. Even though we were running fine and stable at 10-11k players pre-cold war? PFft, I highly doubt that's the issue. ------------
